| | If you are looking for some tires, I am going to try and create a list of tires giving a list of good and bad points of each tire. Also I am not going to be bias to one tire. (this is going to be a work in progress)
Best Bang for the Buck Tires:
Kumho SPT: This is probably the best out of all the best bang for the buck tire. It has great dry traction, excellent wet traction and great threadlife (about ~40000K) but most importantly it is the cheapest one!
Yokohama ES100: This is a close second. The Es100 had similar performance except in the rain the SPT did much better. It has the same threadlife as the SPT but is a little more pricey but still to be considered!
BFGoodrichg-force T/A KDW-2: This is a good tire with similar performance to the SPT and the ES100. The only thing is that is very expensive compared to the other tires. This unfortunatly makes not a great contender in the Best Bang for the Buck TIre none the less its a good tire too!
Dunlop Direzza DZ101: The SPT and ES100 did better in most test compared to the DZ101. Although because the price is right it’s still a good contender. If you would have a choice between the SPT and the DZ101, the SPT will make you more happy!
The Super Sticky’s: Goodyear F1 GS-D3 The F1 GS-D3 is the best tire out right now. It has excellent dry traction, excellent wet traction and a good threadlife (except ~30000 K). It is a bit more expensive then the SPT but the performance back’s the price up! Again if money is no object go with these tires, they are the best all-round performance tire!
Falken Azenis RT-615: What can I say, this is the stickiest street tire that is on the market. The RT-615 as excellent dry traction (better then the Goodyears F1 GS-D3), poor wet traction and poor threadlife (about ~10000-15000 K). This is a great tire for auto-x and hpde events. It is closest thing to an R-Compound tire. The price for this tire is right, it is a little pricey but for the dry performance you get its incredible!
Hankook Ventus RS-2: This is also a good tire. The RS-2 is more of a compremise between the F1 GS-D3 and the Azenis. It has excellent dry traction (a bit better then the F1 GS-D3 but not as sticky as the Azenis), great wet traction (better then the Azenis but nothing close to the F1 GS-D3), threadlife is a bit better then the Azenis but not close to the F1 GS-D3.

| | Yoshi, I don’t sell tires but even if I did it would be too expensive cause of the shipping. I just know alot about tires. Spend lots of time reading and helping others on H-T.
Yes Jeff the RT-615 is mucb better in the rain then the RT-215 but still doesn’t come close to any of the other tires that I mentioned. The thread design was not made for water evacuation but more for dry traction. | Si 4 Life!!!!

| | The main reason why I like the treads in the Azenis is that if there’s a wet spot on the course, you don’t have to worry about completely losing grip. In the morning at one of my autox events, there was a low spot in the pavement where a lot of water had gathered. All of the people on slicks spun there until the water dried up or they realized they had to go around.

| | | ya the azenis do have that advantage over slick but they are not the tire to have when its pooring rain. I have a set just for auto-x and they are awesome but for the streets I use the SPT’s. | Si 4 Life!!!!

| | | you can’t be telling me that you got the 615 cheaper then the SPT. In 195/50/15 the SPT is around 60$, the RT615 is around 90 or a little more. | Si 4 Life!!!!

| | | we dont get azenis’s over here, so i stick to oem itr tyres, Bridgestone Potenza RE010’s in 195/55/15’s, expensive at $125 a corner but the solid sidewall makes up for the handling, no wallowing at all! Great in the dry, but i dont push my car in the wet as the roads can get a little greasy sometimes. | EH Squad member no. 10 - Double Digits FTMFW!
