| | Finally fitted my RS*R Exmag today, had been waiting on it coming for over 3 weeks and it finally came last thursday. Then i had to decide how i was gonna fit it. As its a jdm exhaust the b-pipe will be too long for my UKDM EG6 as uk civic’s have a catalytic converter 17" long, opposed to the shorter jdm ones which are 12" long.
So i phoned my friend who runs a mail order business selling japanese tuning parts and i went round yesterday to take my pick of his decats. I needed one to fit my oem manifold so i chose the 2.25" DC Sports Test Pipe, he had a 2.5" one but there was no way it was going to fit my oem manifold, so i left that one. The decats are ceramic, well built, have good quality welds on them and fit like oem. He gave me it for free since it was the display model he had sent to the magazines over here to feature as new products. He’s europe’s biggest distributor for AEM/DC so he gets them to make the decats for him as they’re popular over here. We dont get hit hard with all the smog checks and stuff you guys get.
Anyhoo, fitted them today and im surprised at how quiet it is, even with the decat. The exhaust was only 3 months old and i picked up for half the brand new price. It’s got 2.5" piping so revs more freely now as its not restricted as much as the oem system i had on it. It’s got a very nice note to it and im happy that i bought it.
In the future when i buy a new manifold, I’ll get one with a 2.5" collector, then replace the decat with a 2.5" one so i have a full 2.5" system, then the real quest for NA power can begin. |
